Presift

Terms — draft

Draft. This page is a plain-language draft written from what the system actually does today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, the contracting entity and governing law are not yet settled, and nothing is being sold. It will be replaced before any licence is offered for sale.

1. What these terms cover

They cover use of the Presift engine: the signed, proprietary program the client downloads and runs on your machine. The client — the GitHub Action and its launcher, in nishu-sde/presift — is separate and licensed under the Apache License 2.0; that licence grants no rights to the engine.

2. The evaluation

3. Paid licences

None are offered for sale today. When they are, purchase terms, renewal, grace period and refunds will be stated at the point of sale — with the contracting entity named. Until then, no order, invoice or payment obligation exists between us.

4. No warranty, and what a finding is

Presift is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. A finding is a risk to review, based only on the statement text and the MySQL manual — never a guarantee about your database, and never a promise that a migration is safe or unsafe. Decisions about running a migration remain yours. To the extent the law allows, liability for loss arising from use of Presift is excluded.

5. Availability

The release service at api.presift.dev is operated on a best-effort basis, with no uptime commitment. If it is unreachable, the client may reuse a previously verified cached release; it never runs an unverified file.

6. Your data

What is collected — and what never is — is described in the privacy page. Your SQL, schema and findings never leave your runner.

7. Changes

These draft terms will be replaced by reviewed terms before any sale. Material changes will be dated on this page.

8. Contact

hello@presift.dev. Governing law and jurisdiction are deliberately left blank in this draft; they will be stated in the reviewed version.
